a page for all your questions

  • Haunted Hands is an appointment-only shop and we do not have regular hours. However, we are open to the public every *First Saturday* from 2-8pm. This is ONLY time you are guaranteed to be able to talk to someone if you decide to swing by.

We do not offer walk-in tattoos on First Saturdays... But if you’ve ever wanted to check out our shop, meet an artist or two, see what’s hanging in our gallery, shop at our boutique, or just stop by to say hello, mark your calendar!

  • It may take a little bit of effort and patience, as each of our artists manages their own schedule and has their own preferred method of contact. This means you will need to look at each artist’s page and read the information provided in order to contact them and book an appointment. Note that some artists only offer pre-drawn designs, while others offer custom work.

  • All artists charge an hourly rate, ranging from $160-$250/hr. Hourly rates vary between artists because tattooing speed varies between artists, so a higher hourly rate doesn’t necessarily mean someone is “more expensive.” All artists do their best to provide fair pricing based on their speed, style, and availability. You may reach out to different artists to ask for a quote, but keep in mind that each artist will have a different interpretation of what you’re looking for, therefore quotes may vary greatly. It is more important to pay attention to which artist’s style matches the kind of work you’re looking for, rather than shopping around for the best price.

  • Rest assured it’s nothing personal! Like any decent tattoo artist right now, we are all fortunate enough to be very busy. Sometimes it takes a few days to reply, sometimes it takes a few weeks. Personally responding to every inquiry is very time consuming, and we don’t get paid for that time. Many of us receive more inquiries than we will be able to work with. Please be patient and be sure to read the information provided by the shop and by the artist. While it is not our intention to ignore anyone, you may not get a reply if your inquiry can be resolved by reading that information.

  • You can contact an artist directly via the information on their *artist page* to ask for a quote. They will likely tell you their hourly rate and give you a rough estimation of how much time they think it will take. In most cases, you may only get a quote if the artist is interested in doing your project. While it is not our intention to ignore anyone, you may not hear back from the artist if they are particularly busy.

  • Each artist has slightly different instructions. First and foremost, not NOT consult your friends or Google. Our artists are happy to answer even the most basic tattoo aftercare questions, so do not hesitate to reach out to them personally.

Some of the main rules are:

No swimming, stay out of the sun, keep it away from pets, keep it clean and hydrated, no picking/scratching, and don’t touch it unless you JUST washed your hands.

  • WE ARE NO LONGER LOCATED AT THE METAL ARTS VILLAGE. We are now located downtown, at 510 n. 7th ave, #150. Our address says we are on 7th ave, but access to our building is from 6th street. We have a map on our *contact form* if you need it. We have a parking lot, but parking is limited. Permits are available for extra street parking for clients if necessary (please ask your artst). Construction/road closures may be present.

  • It depends which artist you’d like to work with and what you’re looking to get done. Sometimes you can get in within a couple weeks, sometimes it takes 6 months. Either way, it usually takes a bit of patience to get an appointment. Check the information on each *artist’s page* for their availability. Keep an eye out for *guest artists* as well, as they may take clients on shorter notice. Be sure to *follow our socials* for the latest updates on artist availability.

  • Head to the *artists* section of the website to browse info and view portfolios. Each artist does their own designs and has a unique style, which is represented by their portfolio. If what you’re looking for matches the style and content you see in their portfolio, they could be a good match! Each artist’s page also has information on their availability, which may be relevant, as well as whether or not they offer custom work.

  • We are appointment-only shop and don’t have regular hours, but you are more than welcome to swing by when we are open to the public every *First Saturday* from 2-8pm. We would be more than happy to answer questions and even introduce you to an artist or two if they are around. Please keep in mind, however, that coming in person will not guarantee that you’ll get a tattoo appointment. Each artist has a unique style and is selective of the projects they take on, so you and the artist would still need to determine if you’re a good match.

  • We do not. We recommend checking out Theo Sheffler (https://blackrosetattooers.com/team/theo-sheffler/) or Fierce Body Piercing (https://fiercebodypiercing.com) here in Tucson.

  • We are open to the public every *First Saturday* from 2-8pm.

  • Absolutely! We recommend checking out the artists at Tattoo Artistry, Sublime Tattoo, and Broken Clover.

  • Rest assured it’s nothing personal! Business is booming for tattoo artists right now, especially if they happen to be any good at it. This is classically referred to as a “good problem.” We feel very fortunate, but also regret that this means we may not be able to work with everyone who wants a tattoo. In addition to managing their own bookkeeping, social media, emails and scheduling, an artist can only produce so many original designs and quality tattoos in a period of time before they burn out. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our artists work hard to prioritize their own well-being while fulfilling the demands of their job.

  • We do not offer gift certificates because each artist is selective about the projects they take on, therefore we cannot guarantee that the person receiving the gift certificate will be able to get what they want from one of our artists. The person who wants the tattoo would first need to contact an artist and get approval for the project before someone else can pay for their tattoo.
